Work Notes: My Push To Change How I work
Take a moment to read them, let them settle, and carry them with you on your own journey:
1. Change is an invitation to grow, even when it feels uncertain.
2. Letting go creates space for something better to find you.
3. My intuition is a guiding light, leading me toward alignment and peace.
4. Rest is not a weakness but a foundation for strength and clarity.
5. I deserve work that feels meaningful, supportive, and fulfilling.
6. Guilt is a signal, not a sentence—I can reframe it into gratitude for lessons learned.
7. Every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory worth celebrating.
Here's What Happened
This month, at the start of my personal new year, a moment of distraction changed everything. I was multitasking—trying to cook while handling remote work during a tense moment—when I left a pot of boiling water unattended on the stove. The result? A small kitchen fire, a trip to the ER for burns on my left hand, and a lot of reflection. Thankfully, the physical injuries healed quickly, leaving just a few scars that will fade with time. But the emotional and mental impact lingered longer than I expected.
In the days that followed, I gave myself permission to pause. I set aside work, creative projects, and even my usual worries about bills and obligations. Instead, I let myself rest. I spent hours on the couch, watching comforting movies and reflecting on what this disruption was teaching me.
It became clear that something had to give.

Letting Go to Move Forward
The distraction that caused the fire wasn’t just about multitasking; it was about a part of my work life that no longer felt right. For years, I held on to this role because it supplemented my income. But I realized I had outgrown it. Growth had stagnated, and it was time to let go.
Letting go of a source of income can feel risky—especially in today’s economic climate. But sometimes, holding on does more harm than good. Trusting my intuition, I embraced the peace that came with the decision to move on. Yes, concerns about the income gap crept in, but I shifted my focus to the opportunities and space this change had created. New ventures were already beginning to take shape.
Trusting Intuition in Times of Change
This experience reminded me of the power of intuition. Sometimes, intuition nudges us in a direction that feels uncertain. It’s not always about avoiding danger—it’s about sensing when something isn’t right or when we’re ready for something more fulfilling.
The kitchen mishap served as a wake-up call, pushing me to reassess my habits and priorities. It forced me to slow down and realign with what truly matters.
Embracing Small Changes
In the days leading up to the incident, I felt an intuitive urge to declutter and reorganize my workspace. I tackled my desk and hung a large painting of two white chairs overlooking a vibrant beach. It felt like my intuition was preparing me for what was coming. During my recovery, I found comfort in this newly organized space. It allowed me to focus on healing and gave me a sense of clarity I hadn’t felt in a long time.
