5 Light Prompts to Refresh Your Spring
1. What food or physical recipe reminds you of spring?
Pasta salad is my go-to this yearāsimple, satisfying, and easy to make with or without a protein. Lately, Iāve been into spiral pasta (either full-carb or whole grain), tossed with tomato, cucumber, a dash of my favorite seasoned salt, and a twist: avocado ranch dip instead of the usual Italian dressing or mayo. Itās a lighter, more refreshing version that still feels filling. This spring, Iām all about reworking traditional recipes to be more nourishing and delicious.
2. What is your favorite time of a spring dayāmorning, afternoon, or evening?
Early evening is hands-down my favorite part of a spring day. Thereās something magical about golden hour when the sun is beginning to set, bumblebees making their final rounds (a big shift for me, since I used to be so afraid of them and now, I welcome their presence), and the air cooling just enough to feel refreshing. Itās the perfect time for a quiet walk or some backyard lounging. I love sitting out on the patio with the string lights glowing in soft colors, creating a cozy vibe before heading in to unwind for the night.
3. What hands-on projects or activities call to you in springtime?
This season, Iām drawn to abstract pressed acrylic paint art. It lets me release the need to overthink color schemes and just enjoy the creative flow. Iāve been making mirrored designs on canvas and watercolor postcard paper, and it feels like a creative awakening after a slow, reflective winter. Iām already brainstorming ways to incorporate these pieces into my seasonal crafting projectsāitās like my hands and imagination are finally syncing up again.
4. What movie, book, play, or show reminds you of spring and why?
Right now, Emily in Paris is on repeat. The show beautifully walks you through the seasons, but the outdoor scenes in Paris and Rome, along with the colorful fashion, especially remind me of spring. Itās my go-to background show while I work or create, and I like to imagine myself as part of the friend groupāoffering my thoughts and whimsical vibes to the mix. What I admire most is how each character seems to be living a fulfilled (while sometimes, messy) life, both personally and professionally. That sense of balance is something I truly aspire to.
5. Create a spring ritual for renewal.
My spring ritual starts with making the bed, pouring a cup of black coffee, and doing a few light stretches before breakfast. Then I usually check on new leads or dive into my project management tool to plan out or tackle tasks for the day. By afternoon, I aim to get some sun or go for a walk. In the evening, I try to enjoy a solid dinner or test out a new recipe for a fun snack. I keep things flexible but aim to make daily routines easier and less overwhelming. Iām also working on adding more intentional self-care like nail and hair routines during the week or on weekends to nurture the softer side of me which deserves regular attention too.
