Craft Project: Coffee Mug Bookmarks - While giving my creativity a well-deserved rest, I wanted to take a moment to highlight these adorable coffee mug bookmarks I made this past year. Using stacked recycled cardboard, scrapbook paper, and twine for tassels, I brought these cozy designs to life. I hand-drew the mug pattern and figured out how to create a "full cup" effect, making it look like coffee or hot cocoa using scrapbooking cardstock. It’s truly amazing what the mind and hands can create when inspiration strikes!

Arts & Crafts TipsWhen you’re low on supplies and working within a budget, don’t overlook thrift shops for second-hand or donated materials. It’s a great way to explore and step outside the comfort zone of ordering online. While online shopping is convenient, if you’re feeling creatively stuck, you might need more stimulation and variety in your approach. Thrifted and donated items give you a chance to reimagine how you work with your art or even spark brand-new ideas.

Handmade Business Tips – I created this list a few years ago while transitioning my crafts into a hobby business. At the time, I struggled to find a beginner-friendly approach to my journey. Below, I’ve summarized the 5 key points, still relevant for both hobby and business.

🔖 Dismiss unhealthy self-talk and comparison. Focus on your own progress and use your time to refine and improve your craft.

🔖 Stick with what feels right to you. Don’t force a business out of your hobby if it doesn’t resonate with you—take your time until you’re ready for more.

🔖Keep your goals simple. Build your confidence by starting small. If you decide to sell, test a few things at a time to see what works.

🔖Become a student of your craft. Seek out other artists, creators, and resources that inspire and guide you in evolving your work.

ðŸ”–Create something every week. Even experimenting with a different medium will help creativity flow more naturally over time.
